Eyvindarholt is a small guesthouse that emphasizes the unique nature and wildlife of Álftanes. The house itself is a one of-a-kind Icelandic project designed by the architect Sigríður Ólafsdóttir and was renovated in 2004 -2007 largely on the original foundations. The guesthouse offers wonderful views of Álftanes, Reykjavík and the surrounding area, including the nearby presidential residence, Bessastaðir. Eyvindarholt is a short distance from the culture, trade and amenities of the capital, being only a 15-minute drive from Reykjavík’s city center and 50-minute drive from Keflavík airport.

In running the guesthouse it is vital to us that we focus on an environmentally friendly lifestyle and personalized service, such as homegrown produce and homemade food for the morning meal. The vegetables, berries and spices we use are often grown in the kitchen garden at Eyvindarholt or a greenhouse in Álftanes. We prefer to manage the business, design and services of the guesthouse ourselves and hope this helps our guests experience the uniqueness of the area and make lasting memories from their time in Álftanes.
